2 posts back I wrote down 12 things I'd like to accomplish before 2010...here's a little update on how I'm doing.
12 before 2012
Got this idea from another blog and I thought it was a great idea. I've been feeling very unproductive lately...maybe because I don't have a lot of energy due to the pregnancy and taking care of a toddler, maybe because I've been single parenting for the past 6 weeks and still have 2 weeks to go 'til we're back to some sort of normalcy, or maybe because when my Coleman is actually sleeping I like to take at least some time to myself instead of getting things done around the house. So this list is my motivation before I get into major nesting mode of cleaning my house (I have a different goal for the month of January...more to come on that)
12 things to do before 2012 (in no particular order)
1. Create photo albums online so that they are up to date (there are 6 to do). Don't have to get them all printed and sent, but they need to be completed so when its in the budget, I can order them and have them here!
So far I have 2.5 complete out of 6....but there are folders on my desktop with the pics for a few other albums in them and ready to be put in photo books. I'm pretty happy with this number.
2. Organize our basement - I've been making the unfinished space a mess going through different things. I want to get them all back on the amazing shelves my husband made so that when we do decide to finish it...moving items will be much easier.
With the budget having been set to "complete" our basement (and by complete I mean just carpeted with painted walls to equal a ginormous playroom) I haven't gotten around to my reorganization yet....maybe this weekend?
3. Create a list of things to get before Baby BOY #2 arrives - Got started on this list....but I need some help.
Any mamas who went through having more than one...what are some things you think I need to get/accomplish before baby #2 arrives?
4. Take a weekend away with my wonderful husband (excited that this trip is already planned) =) Justin and I took last weekend and went to the east side of the state.
We did some shopping, relaxed, had dinner (and talked the entire time and took our TIME eating...it was delightful), went bowling, more shopping, saw a movie (Courageous...AWESOME movie...check it out!), and finally returned to pick up our precious Coleman. He had a ball with his grandparents and did a great job while we were out. In fact, he really wanted nothing to do with us when we returned =( It was a much needed weekend away and we came back refreshed and ready for the winter season to begin!
5. Read the new Karen Kingsbury book that's coming out in November -
Getting ready to purchase online so I have it on the day it comes out. I plan on reading it while I'm at the Dr. office for a 2 hour glucose test after Thanksgiving...okay, I may have it read before then =)
6. Clean out the guest room/office and get it ready to be Coleman's new room -
haha! Haven't even started this and the room is a MESS!
7. Print photos for new picture frames and set up new floating shelves in living room (I've had the frames and shelves for over a month and haven't gotten anything up yet!) -
Photos printed and in frames, possibly having my wonderful husband hang them tonight!
8. Take Coleman to a children's museum -
Working on putting this on the calendar
9. Try 4 new recipes -
2 done and 1 in the crock pot as I'm typing...it smells good, but not sure it's going to taste as great....how come recipes never look as good as the picture?
10. Organize and clean out car (I know this one sounds weird, but there are a few new things I'd like to add to my car to help keep it from looking like a tornado ran through it)
Thanks to my wonderful dad while we were out of town....we came back (after having them lent us their vehicle for the weekend) to a VERY clean car inside and out....now I just have to get my few little organization items and I'll check this one off my list!
11. Make a habit of doing devotions daily (this one will be very hard to figure out with being so busy and so tired....I can do it!) -
Not doing so great on this one at the moment...but being inspired more the last few days
12. Create or do some of the new ideas I put on my boards on Pinterest (seriously, if you haven't checked out this website you need to...it's so addicting, but in a good way! Let me know if you want an invite to join!) -
Tried a few...still want to do a few more...more posts on that in a bit
WOW - I'm pretty pleased with how much I have already done. I didn't realize I had done a lot of these already and was feeling discouraged when beginning to type this out. I have a few more weeks left - hopefully I can accomplish my goals
What were you making in the crock pot? Did it turn out good? I'm always looking for new crock pot recipes.
ReplyDeleteCan't help you w/ knowing what to get done before baby #2. I'm on baby #3 and I still don't know what the heck I'm doing.
