A little update

I'm way overdue for a blog post. Seems that is my new trend lately - write an update, then wait a few weeks and write another one. I've had some great ideas floating around in my head, but just haven't found or made the time to blog about them.

So....

Coleman has been doing some really cute stuff lately, and since I'm somewhat keeping this blog for him as a "memory" book, I need to get his new tricks down in writing.

He is now signing: more, please, milk, all done, thank you, hat, and just new today - shoes (almost)

He has learned how to add the long e sound at the end of some words: puppy, daddy, and mommy
It is seriously one of the cutest sounds I have ever heard and you can tell clear as day what he is saying.

As far as talking goes - lately he just seems to be jabbering away at everything. He is telling jibberish stories, trying to repeat things that we tell him, etc. He knows how to say tractor, truck, daddy, mommy, puppy, grandpa, grandma, grandmom, grandad, blueberry, bye bye and a few more. Of course, they all don't sound like the exact word, but Justin and I can tell what they are.

Another new favorite noise/word that Coleman is doing is saying "woah". We usually say this if he falls quickly, or slips on something. We've been saying in for a while now, but Coleman has finally picked up on it and will repeat "woah, woah" after doing it himself. My belly is getting too big to lay him down in his crib so I just have to set him in there for nap and bedtime. The other day I went to put him in there for nap and he kinda leaped out of my arms and fell into the crib. He then said "woah", layed down, snuggled his puppy, and was ready for sleep. It took everything in my power not to laugh....but of course I did as soon as I got out of the room.  We have also been saying "woo-hoo" in a high pitch voice if something is exciting or we are really happy and now Coleman will say it too....very cute! I should really get these on video too.
His play puppy, Scout (a Leapfrog toy), has a saying "Let's make a silly sound....boogaly boogaly". We've started doing this with Coleman and asking him to make a silly sound....he will respond with silly "b" sounding words and tongue babbles and spit. Very cute!

Coleman has also taken to a love of BOOKS! YAY! He likes to go through his basket and bring one to you then will turn around and plop in your lap. He enjoys any book about puppies, tractors, animals, and trucks. He also has a book that sings "wheels on the bus", which is another favorite.

I've been trying to upload a recent movie I took of Coleman, but it hasn't worked. It's super cute too - it's of him doing "If You're Happy And You Know It", the whole song!

Other happenings around our household are...

The busy season is over! HORRAY! We made it 8 weeks with Justin working 90+ hour weeks/7days a week. We are happy that it is done and that he is home before dark each night. This will be our first weekend as a family of 3 since Labor Day weekend. Coleman has been a trooper throughout the season, but it has definitely taken its toll on both him and I. He loves to play with his daddy and will for the most part, let Justin do/take care of most things. However, he hasn't let him feed him his night bottle in a while and he always wants mommy around even if daddy is around too. This has been hard on me to always be wanted by him and it is harder for me to get a break in (unless its nap time or bedtime). So we're hoping that after this weekend and a week or two of being home at a regular time will get Coleman back into the swing of how things were before the busy season was here.

Here is a cute picture of us last year at the farm and this year - Crazy how much change happens in just 12 months (and I have a belly on me this year!) It's crazy to think that next year there will be 4 of us in the rocking chair!

Our little baby boy has been very active lately too! His favorite time to kick around and bug his mommy is in the evening when I finally have a chance to relax. It's either that, or I just don't feel him moving a ton throughout the day because I'm busy chasing around a toddler! Our ultrasound appointment went great, all is healthy with mom and baby and as far as we can tell - his head isn't crazy huge yet like his big brothers. This pregnancy has been completely different from Coleman's too. I have been having some serious hip pain throughout this pregnancy. So much in fact, that sometimes at night it is hard for me to get up and walk and rolling over to get comfortable in bed at night is just painful. I'm working on some stretches and I'm very thankful for a sister-in-law who is a physical therapist and has been a huge help so far! No weird cravings yet, although I did have a craving for a glacier (slushie and ice cream) from Dairy Queen, as well as salty sweet early on in the pregnancy. You can still find a can of pringles and some sort of sweet treat (usually peanut butter M&M's) in our pantry.

So there's my little update....and now for a few pics =) We had fun playing in the leaves today
