Traditions

One of the traditions that I love that Justin and I do is our year ornament for the tree. As a child, I remember choosing a year ornament with my mom....something that represented something we did that year. My mom and dad have been doing a year ornament every year since they were married. Justin and I continued this tradition when we got married. I'm so excited for the day when we can get a smaller tree to decorate specifically with year ornaments (just like my parents do now as there are more than 25!). What a fun thing this will be to help remember significant events from each year and for our children to grow up with too.

I also started a yearly ornament for Coleman....okay, so he only has 2 so far, but my plan is to pick out an ornament that is special for that year (this year I'm thinking a barn/e-i-e-i-o or puppies, and last year was his hand print for his first Christmas). When he is all grown up and living on his own, I can give him a box of ornaments as a start to his own Christmas tree.

Here are the ornaments we have so far!

A computer  - because we met on eharmony

Bride and Groom - because we got married

A dog bone - because Harley joined our family

Pregnant Mama - because we were pregnant most of the year and welcomed Coleman to the family!

Enough said - a huge milestone for us! I made this ornament at a paint-pottery studio
